GROUP CAMPING

IN THE HEART OF THE NATIONAL PARK

YEAGARUP HUT

& CAMPGROUND

Yeagarup Hut is located around 45min drive from Pemberton township, on the south side of the Yeagarup Dune system; the largest landlocked dune system of their type in the Southern Hemisphere. From the hut it is an 8km 4WD drive to the Southern Ocean and the mouth of the Warren River.

As the river winds through to the coast, campers have the opportunity to swim, canoe, fish, 4WD and adventure with their family or group.

The site is a perfect base to walk or 4WD the Oilwell track to the Warren River. Mountain bike riding is also easily accessible through the forest trails surrounding the Hut, however sand blowouts can sometimes make access to the river by push bike difficult.

Every season offers a new experience, from rugging up around the campfire in Winter to Spring wildflower season, as well as Summer swimming, fishing and seasonal marroning in the Warren River. Of course you can also just kick back and simply enjoy the amazing Autumn ‘down south’ weather!

A secure and secluded site with everything you need

The Hut is located on a DBCA maintenance access track which is inaccessible to the general public.

The fully self-contained Yeagarup Hut is available for exclusive use bookings only and can cater for groups of up to 40 people.

The site contains:

  • Double commercial sink and prep bench

  • Gas BBQ

  • Wood BBQ / firepit (seasonal)

  • Large open group dining area

  • 2 x Large undercover tables

  • Bench seating for 30 people

  • Additional outdoor picnic tables

  • 1 x Bathroom with hot shower

  • 2 x Pit toilets

  • 2 x Large rooms, suitable for bedrooms or storage

  • Rainwater is supplied (may be seasonally restricted)

The campsite has a large car park (access to the dunes is restricted for off-road vans and trailers with off-road capabilities) and permits may be required when booking to access through the dunes. A post and rail fence and pine post section separates the carpark from the camping area.

Getting there

Access to the hut is by 4WD vehicle only. Groups and families using this facility will have to ensure that they have seats available to transport all the people camping at the hut and that the drivers are competent to drive off-road. 4WD tyres are required to be deflated to low pressures to enable access through the dunes.

$275* per night

(for 10 adults; extra adult $27.50 per night and extra child $7.20 per night)
Please note booking system will book the hut however not per person - please confirm prior to arrival.

A pristine world-class environment

It is important to recognise the Yeagarup Hut facility as world class and to ensure that it is protected as much as possible from vandalism and abuse.

We would be interested in seeing more of this type of facility made available in our national parks and encourage all users to read the information on the Leave No Trace philosophy all park users must adopt prior to entering a national park:

The Yeagarup Hut has pit toilets only and campers must carry in and carry out all other provisions, including their rubbish. If you are using an additional portable toilet, waste can be dumped at the Pemberton Caravan Park.

Tank Water is available on site, and rations are monitored. Drinking water must be bought in and is available from the main street of Pemberton (tap located opposite Pemberton Pharmacy in the RSL Park).

Please note that Ritter Road is a registered road in a National Park, so access to the campsite must be via registered vehicles with licensed, sober drivers; no unlicensed vehicle or bike may be used - and no dogs are permitted in the National Park.

*Making a booking

To book, visit the booking page here  - you may wish to contact us by email or phone us to confirm availability and vehicle requirements.

The hut requires a bond (credit card authorisation) to be provided. A cleaning procedure is provided with all bookings and forms part of the conditions of hire.

Yeagarup Hut is $275 per night, based on a group of 10 people.
(extra adult $27.50 per night and extra child $7.20 per night)

Please note the online booking system will book the hut but not per person - this is done prior to arrival (details about how to do this will be provided after a booking is made).

Current prices include National Park Camping fees (entry fee is a separate cost) and are based on a minimum group size of 10 adults and a maximum of 40.

Low season or last minute bookings for less than this number of people can be arranged where appropriate.

A tag along training opportunity with Pemberton Discovery Tours is available to users wishing to be escorted to the campsite and through the D’Entrecasteaux National Park.  Contact us to find out more.
